Exciting things are happening at Sarah Butcher Art. I signed a licensing contract with AD-Lines Art Euro Group. This premier art publisher has acquired over 20 pieces of my work. Some will be available through Art.com It sounds like my digital workshops might soon get off the ground. The Baltimore County Library contacted me about the spring schedule. So look for that to come. The Etsy Shop is starting to get some notice, we sold a typewriter! I am going to do a little advertising through google and hopefully get some pet portrait commissions. If you know anyone who is looking for awesome affordable pet portraits please send then my way. Portrait of my Yorkie "Beau"

I have taken the plunge! I am a full time artist . This endeavor allows me to work on ideas that I had shelved for awhile.
I am able to go back to the photographs I took while in France and create some paintings. I also repaired my Surface 3 and bought a new pen. It's better than the first one. Now the pen has four nibs for different line weight. I'm really enjoying this machine again. Also in my arsenal in the digital studio is a Mac Book Air an iPad and my NEW iPhone 6 plus. I didn't feely like waiting for the 7 (or spending more money). I have 6 large canvases that are awaiting some creative genius to occur in my physical studio upstairs. I have lots of ideas. I have been working on my graphic design portfolio. It really been a lot of fun, but now I'd like to get serious about getting a few gigs now that the pool is closed. Artwise, I've been posting images to Instagram like a mad woman. I think I'm on image overload. Here are two new pieces. I am working on a series of vegetable still life paintings. I think these turned out very nicely.
![]() I started working a series of collages over the Easter break. I was sitting at the breakfast table looking at the newspaper and wanted to start a project. Without large paper on hand I decided to use the daily news. I cut long strips from an Anthropology catalog (my favorite mailer) and when I ran out of that I started to cannibalized my sketchbooks. I used a glue stick at first and then used Mod Podge (my favorite collage medium) After that I added color and pattern with markers, pant and pen. ONE WORLD CAFE INSTALL Installed 16 pieces at one of my favorite venues "One World Cafe"
All new work , featuring some mixed media pieces. Stop Down ! I set up this site using free tools . I am marketing this system . If you are interested in a site that you can control order my e-commerce guide! Etsy is fine but there are times when I want total control over the design of the site and to also have the ability to earn more from sales.
We travel a little bit . We of course tune in to the artwork we see on the walls of the condos and hotel rooms we visit. We would love to see our work enhance these spaces. Please give us the opportunity to talk to you about our vision for your spaces.
Naples Cards and Design is the brainchild of Hannah Butcher. What started out as making note cards has blossomed into a full line of accessories, cards and fine art.
Both my oldest daughter Hannah and I are visual artists while my younger daughter Rebecca is an actress, and singer. We all come together in the "studio" on weekends and in the evening to create a variety of boutique-like items. Rebecca designs small charms and great appliqued pieces. Hannah's specialty would have to be her scrapbook cards and the awesome paintings and prints she produces . I am just obsessed with creating the grosgrain ribbon cuff bracelets at the moment. I would have to say the studio really got revved -up during the blizzards back in February! We decided to take the plunge and sell our wares at the Townsontowne festival May 1 and 2. We will also be at the Arts in the Park event at Sherwood Farm on April 18th. We will be raffling off a piece or jewelry or art each day. So come out and see us! |
AuthorIn my professional life I am foremost an artist. I am happiest when making something. I love to "try things out" and create prototypes until I hit on something that "works" Archives
